  • Handmade
  • Materials: Bartlett woolen yarn, Lion Brand fishermens yarn, Purple Loosestrife dye, Red sumac berry dye, Plastic novelty vintage button

I used a moss stitch, and two plant dyes for the edge of this deep gray hand-knitted shawl; purple loosestrife flowers for the darker gray, and red sumac berries for the silvery points at the edge. The warm charcoal yarn of the body is worsted wool from Bartlett woolen mill in Harmony, Maine.

This shawl can be fastened by the double button arrangement you can move anywhere along the crocheted filigree edge for different effects around the neckline. Or pop the button out altogether for a simpler, more formal look. The collar can be worn up or down.

The long points in front and the truncated back both help the weight of the shawl to stay forward and not slip off your shoulders.

Long edge (neck) measures 53".
Center back collar edge (rolled down) to back point measures 19".

Each of my shawls comes with a pretty fabric bag to keep out dust and moths when your shawl is folded up or stored.

Beautiful sweater! We initially purchased a sweater that turned out to be a little tight on our son. We asked to swap it for a larger one we saw on Francette's site but instead of just swapping it for one already made, Francette asked for our sons measurement and knitted him a brand new sweater that fitted perfectly (with a little extra room to grow). Communication was great and Francette kept us updated along the way. Was even accommodating of our tight time line as we were heading off on vacation. Thank you so much!! Great experience.

I LOVE my Christmas cactus inspired shawl. The yarn gives it a very graceful, soft drape and the colors are fabulous -- rich and vibrant. Unique, and looks and feels great. Nice seller, too.

Received my beautiful shawl a few days after placing my order. To say I'm delighted with the shawl is an understatement; it's soft, warm, beautifully made, the colors are deep and rich. It exceeded my expectations in every way. Thank you!
