These exquisite silk dancing slippers are embroidered in a Chinoiserie style that was very popular in the Nineteenth century. They have been tucked inside The Dream Circus wardrobe trunk for many years and now it is time for them to find a new home.

They appear to be gently worn (probably to a soiree or ball) and there is some deterioration of the silk, which only adds to their ethereal appeal. The size is unmarked but they are extremely dainty. I strongly recommend the slippers be purchased for display only because of their delicate antique condition.

I am not a shoe expert, but from what I can determine, they appear to be from the late 1800’s.

They measure 9 1/2 inches along the bottom from toe to heel and a mere 2 ¾ across at the widest.
