Description

Lovely ruby red fit and flare party dress from the 1950s to early 1960s, in a silky rayon type velvet, long sleeves, scoop neck, no label. Zips up the back with a metal zipper, has two hooks with thread in the back. Two pleats in front and back, cute piping around waist, so no belt needed.

Perfect for holiday parties or next Valentine's Day. Velvet in lovely condition, crushed very slightly under the arms and around the top of the sleeves, one tiny crush mark on the bodice, about two inches from the neckline. This red is very difficult to photograph, it is a true, blue-based red, would say it is a deep ruby red, not a tomato red as it may appear in the photos. This dress does not look like it has been worn much but the crush marks may be from wear or from storage.

Estimate this is a small to medium for slightly bustier gals, the mannequin is sporting a padded bra underneath (she is a 34A or small 34B) and the dress is still too big in the bust. Please check measurements against something that fits you well.

Shoulder seam to seam: 16" across
Bust: Measures about 17" across, armpit to armpit when laid flat, NOT including the extra room in the cup area. There is a lot of room in the bust area, definitely bigger than an A, possibly bigger than a B cup.
Waist: 13-1/2" across (27 nearly 28" waist)
Hips: Free
Sleeve length (from shoulder): 22.5"
Bodice: 15.5"
Total length: 38"

Please ask any questions, all vintage clothing is sold as is, sorry no returns. International buyers your items will be shipped first class international with insurance. Thanks for looking and ask any questions!

Returns and exchange details

All sales are final. EXCEPT FOR SHOES. Please ask any questions before buying if you are unsure of the size or my measurements. I describe all the flaws I can find. I may not find every single flaw, but I do my best. If you are very unhappy with your item please get in touch within 3 to 5 business days and hopefully we can work something out. If we agree on a return or an exchange, the buyer will need to pay shipping to return the item back to me, and you will receive a refund, minus shipping cost, once the item is received in the same condition.

Shoes can be returned or exchanged for something else in the shop, IF THE BUYER PAYS round trip shipping. Vintage shoes can be tricky to fit, even with the best measurements. For shoe returns, buyers need to contact me within 3 to 5 business days to let me know they wish to return the shoes.

Please remember that you are buying vintage/used clothing. Unless an item says dead stock or new with tags, these items have been previously worn. Some items may be many decades old. I have been wearing vintage and used clothing for years and while I try to be discriminating and try to mention every flaw I see, I might not catch every single thing that a buyer who is new to vintage would see.

Feel free to ask any questions before you buy. There are no dumb questions!

Additional policies

Please do not go by size alone (if there is one). Please ask questions if I have not provided enough measurements. Vintage clothing fits differently than modern clothing and you should measure clothes that fit you well, in addition to knowing your own measurements. I try to provide as many measurements as possible.
