Description

New Pups, Small 5.00 or the really nice ones for 7.50.

This listing is for an Agave Lopantha more commonly known as Agave Quadricolor currently growing in a 4 inch pot (see images 3-5 for size of plant in it listing), with established roots ready to plant into a larger container or into the ground for optimal growing speed and size. This much sought after agave is known for its distinct leaf coloration which has 4 differently colored lines running down the leaf with green and yellow shades that create a strikingly beautiful rosette of leaves. The terminal spine is not an aggressive or sharp as other Agaves and with age the spines along the sides of leaves are known to dry and be easily removed without damaging the plant. This may occur naturally or can be aided if a spineless look is desired. These agaves grow to about 2 to 3 feet in diameter with some specimens slightly larger or can be kept to Much smaller sizes by planting them a smaller container. Most agaves, if not given enough room, can be kept a smaller size without damaging the plant or planted in the ground for fastest growth. If you plan on potting these agaves be sure to remove them from the pot every year or 2 and pull out any pups and longer roots which tend to grow in circles around the pot and roots system, which can potentially cut off nutrient supply to the plant and although this usually does not kill the plant it can give them an unhealthy appearance.

IMPORTANT INFO: I currently have Agaves Quadricolors mostly rooted except for the smaller ones which have some roots growing but are not fully established yet. They can still be water on a normal schedule and o not require special care such as cutting or other plants that have no roots need to be. I will ship them bare root but can include a plastic pot upon request if you would like one. Images 3,4 show the smaller/medium pups/offsets which may not be full rosettes yet but have at least 4+ leaves and image 5 shows one of the largerof fshoots. The ones you will receive will be of equal or similar size and amount of leaves to the specimen you see pictures. Sometimes pups may have slight damage on 1 or 2 of the outer leaves but these will be irrelevant soon as it drop them soon as it begins to grow

The largest plants shown in image 1 and 2 are in separate listings and are only displayed here to show what the plant looks like mature. Once the roots have grown from your plant an it has established itself in the location of choice, you can expect the pus to grow for 1.5-3 years before reaching mature size.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ALL LISTINGS:
(Don't worry, there is no tricky small print here to get you!)

If you have questions, as always, I am more than happy to answer them, both now and down the road should u run into problems or general questions you'd like to know more about.

Shipping/Replanting:
-Priority shipping only due to fragile nature of plants and to avoid exposure to Extremely Hot/wet/cold/snowy weather. This will assure the package arrives quickly without any damage caused by these elements. Please try to track your plant so it does not sit out for longer than needed (if applicable)
-Plants shipped Bare or Semi Bare root. This will not injure your succulent. Due to their ability to store water in their leaves, these plants do not go through the same shock that a tree or non succulent plant would so it will resume growth quickly after it is replanted, and sometimes even continuing while not before doing so.
-I package all plants very carefully using a variety of materials that best suit the particular plant. Occasional, due to rough transport, a leave may be cracked or a tip may be broken off which i cannot be held responsible for (Hasn't happened yet, knock on wood).
-Replant your succulent ASAP after arrival. When replanting, Hold succulent into pot and fill in soil from all sides occasionally tapping pot onto the table to allow soil to fill in gaps between roots until you reach the base of the plant. Gently push soil down around sides and top with dressing of choice (gravel, pumice etc for better drainage and easy watering.

About the Shop:
Colorful Succulents is the Etsy store of Santa Barbara Succulents and Santabarbaracactus.com, a micro nursery with limited public access here in the foothills of the Santa Ynez Mountains where we are blessed with ideal conditions for growing these wonderful plants. All of my succulents and cacti are individually cared for by me, Jens, and after initial propagation and for some, and indoor stage to protect the youngest seedlings, are grown outdoors, organically, using ONLY natural USDA organic approved fertilizers and minerals such as homemade compost, organic worm castings, bat guano, azomite etc producing strong plants maximizing their ability to withstand their maximum hot/cold temperatures, pest and/or disease much better then overfertilized/watered plants and are overall more hardy than those grown in greenhouses or indoors under artificial lights for their adult lives making them more susceptible to sunburn and cold/frost damage, and are often known to "deflate" once removed from their idealistic conditions and intense feeding schedules. The bottom line is, I try my best to grow strong, healthy Succulents and sell them to you at a fair price that covers my expenses and allows me to survive in an attempt to continue doing what I love to the best of my abilities!

Prices and availability are subject to change without notice. I will only send out plants if they are in the condition that they were advertised to be so in the rare occasion that something has happened to a plant you have already ordered (Ex. I remove the soil and discover the roots are not healthy or a plant is damaged during packaging) I will make sure to make up for any such mishap and will offer you an alternative + an extra item or the option to receive a refund for your purchase along with discount code you can use on a for a future order.

CUSTOM ORDERS:
are always available upon request. I have a large collection of succulents and cacti currently being propagated, grown and cared for as described above but only lit a few at a time to assure that I can continue to provide the best customer service possible rather than trying to sell as many succulents as somehow possible. Yes, Of course, I need to sell to keep the business, but making sure that questions are answered promptly and accurately, shipments go out on time etc is my priority but please feel free to let me know of a particular specimen you are looking for and chances are i might. I will let you know within 24-36 hrs whether I am able to fulfil your request whether it be a larger quantity of a listed item or something not displayed that i have in my collection Or if applicable, give you the option to have me acquire the plant for you from one of my affiliates who share the same philosophy, methods, and standards as me, and also own rare and collectors items usually unable to be accessed by many larger nurseries***
