The pictured rings were made using Canarywood (the lighter colored wood) and Koa. This listing is for two similar rings, custom made to your
sizes. They will be made using the "block method" for affordability.
For those who are not familiar with wooden rings, it is
helpful to understand that there are two general methods for making
them. I will call them the “block method” and the “bent wood method.”
The “block method” involves layering the different woods into a little
block. Then, the hole is drilled out and the ring is shaped from
that. This is a fairly quick way of making rings, so I can do it
relatively inexpensively. If done properly, it still makes for a nice

The “bent wood method” involves taking thin strips of the main wood
and heat/steam bending them into circles. These are then layered to
themselves and the ring can be shaped from that. When desired, a
groove can be cut around the ring and other woods or even crushed
stone can be inlaid. This is a much more tedious process and is a bit
more expensive. However, because the grain of the wood runs all the
way around the ring, this method produces a much stronger ring.

If you are on a tight budget and aren’t planning on wearing your
wooden ring every day, the “block method” may be the best choice for
you. But if this is going to be your wedding band and are planning on
wearing it constantly, or if the cost isn’t an issue for you, I
recommend the “bent wood method.” The added quality of the ring is
worth the extra cost.

If you see a ring of mine that was made using the “block method” and
would like a similar ring in the “bent wood method” (or vice versa),
let me know and I will provide a listing for you to purchase.

When shopping for a wooden ring and aren’t sure which method was used,
ask the seller so that you know what you are getting. This specific
listing is for two rings made using the "block method."
In order to protect the wood and insure a long life for the ring, I
finish each of my rings with multiple coats of a Cyanoacrylate finish
(basically a highly refined superglue). After testing many different
finishes, this is what I’ve found to be the most durable and longest
lasting. I am happy to use a different finish upon request. If at any
time, the finish on your ring becomes damaged, simply return the ring
to me and I will refinish it for $3 (to cover the cost of shipping
back to you).
US ring sizes typically range from 1-15. If you don’t know
your size, it is recommended that you visit any jewelry store before
ordering to get professionally sized. There are other methods of
measuring available, but I have often found them to be inaccurate.
Since wooden rings cannot be resized, it is important to get an
accurate measurement. Keep in mind that I can make rings in ¼ and ½
sizes, as well.

During checkout, there will be a section where you can write me a
note. Just let me know there what size you will be needing, as well as
any other customizations that you would like.
If after receiving your ring, you determine that you need a different
size, return the original back to me and I will make an exchange with
you for $5, which covers my materials cost and shipping.
If you would like to speak with me before ordering, please
send me a message here on Etsy or email me at MnMWoodworks [!at] gmail.com.
I am always happy to customize my rings for you, using different woods
or stones of your choice.
My rings are carefully crafted and take a considerable amount of time
to make. Please allow one to two weeks for me to get your ring made
and finished before shipping it out.
Each ring is made using materials in their natural state. I
use no dyes, stains, or other colorings. The colors you see in my
rings are the colors that are found in nature and will often vary
somewhat from ring to ring.
