Our new kit makes dying black with Natural Dyes an easy venture with all the dyes you need and easy to follow instructions. The Black Kit comes in types sizes, the "Peace Silk", Mini and Maxi (perfect for dyeing cotton T-shirts).
It is a perfect gift for someone interested in fabric crafts, and is appropriate for all levels of experience. All kits contain complete instructions, and the following materials :
TANNIC ACID : powdered pure tannic acid, a traditional ingredient for black, even before logwood was introduced. Tannic acid would classically be added in the form of tree bark, or hulls.
LOGWOOD EXTRACT : powdered extract of the heartwood of a tropical tree; harvested in Mexico. This extract is 100% natural dye
IRON MORDANT : known in the old dyebooks as "green vitriol", this is a traditional fixer for darkening colors.

I just finally went through the directions and realized I actually did not get the peace silk in the package at all. Would have been nice to help dye the silk.
