This is the actual front cover from a vintage 1959 issue of the British magazine, Punch. (The cover had become detached from the heavily-worn magazine.)

Color cartoon artwork by William Hewison shows Mr. Punch, the magazine's mascot, as a Beatnik artist, complete with beard and sandals. Huge Abstract-Expressionist paintings lean against the studio wall. Mr. Punch is yelling at his dog Toby who has tracked wet paint across a pristine new canvas.

Size: Page is approximately 11 x 8.5 inches.

Condition: Noticeable wear on thin paper: faint crease to center; small crescent creases. The reverse is a color ad for menswear made with Acrilan.

A fun and unique gift for artists, hipsters, designers, illustrators, cartoonists; would look great framed.
