Description

HAND FORGED ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE - One of a Kind Wooden Carpenter's Thing - EARLY AMERICAN TOOL - Late 1800's to Early 1900's.

I know, the word "Thing" is not at all precise, but I really have no clue as to how to name this Hand-Forged Tool. I tried to take excellent pictures that will tell you more about this American Primitive than my words can.

It is beautifully hand-forged and perhaps was made for some particular need of the blacksmith's. I have tried to research it to no avail. It definitely is a "one of a kind" due to its hand-crafting. There might be other tools made by others for a similar purpose, but they will NOT be just like this one.

It is in excellent condition with the only flaw being the split on one side of the original handle. The metal has the old silky smooth feel that you find on 1800's tools. Hammer and forging marks are easy to see even in my pictures. This is truly an excellent example of American Hand-Made Primitive Tools!

The Tool is 10 3/8 inches in length and the handle (including the metal on the ends) is 4 1/2 inches wide. Weight is 1 lb. 5 ozs.

Price is $32.00 and shipping is $15.00.

I gladly refund any shipping charges that exceed the postage and money spent on boxes and packing materials. Of course, I will combine orders to create larger refunds. Your purchases will be shipped within 3 working days.
