Description

Pure white glass is fused with layers of green and blue green dichroic for a beautiful and unique pair of earrings. The green at the bottom of the earring is a rich emerald with blue undertones. Over the white floats a single transparent square of green that shifts and shimmers and seems to do a disappearing act sometimes! The iridescent glass is filled with soft, glittering dichroic sparkle! I design and create all of my glass jewelry myself in my home studio. The glass cabochons are hand cut, hand shaped, and kiln fired and cooled several times for beautiful clarity and strength.

The earrings (total length) are 1 3/8" long and a bit over 3/8" wide. Earwires are .925 sterling silver French hooks, made in the U.S.A. Bails are leaf-shaped, good sterling plated, nickel and lead free. Little earring nuts are included for extra security on your ears.

Dichroic glass is a wonderful color shifting glass--originally invented as optical glass for space telescopes. A very fine layer of metallic fused to the surface of the glass in a special kind of kiln firing, creates the exciting color shift. Because of this color changing nature, dichroic glass is difficult to capture in a photo. Additionally, computer screens and devices can have slight color variations. This beautiful glass comes to life when you see it in person!

Beautiful product, well made and catching everybody's eye. What out for the import charges though to UK. That caught me out.

Payments

Secure options
  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card information.
You may check out using Etsy's Direct Checkout--which uses a credit card, Paypal, or Money Order (U.S.). Payment is expected at the time of your order. If you choose to pay with a money order--I will need to receive it, naturally, before I mail out your items.

For international orders, please pay with Paypal or credit card only. Buyer is responsible for paying any customs fees. Once mailings leave the U S, I have no way to track them or to guarantee their delivery. It will take several weeks for your item to arrive--times have ranged from 3 weeks to as many as 6 or more, depending on the country to which the item is being shipped.

Connecticut residents will need to pay the 6.35% sales tax, which will factor in automatically when you check out.

If you have any problems during the checkout process, please convo me right away and I will help you sort it out.

If you would like me to hold an item for you, I can do this too, for a few days. Just send me an Etsy convo and I will put a "reserved" notice on the item.

I do not provide insurance for items I ship. If you would like to purchase that, or upgrade to USPS Priority Shipping, for that matter, please contact me and we can set that up. If a customer buys several items, I will often upgrade to Priority Shipping.

All CUSTOM ORDERS must be paid for when the order is placed.

Thank you for supporting my work and for buying from independent artisans!!

Returns and exchange details
RETURNS or EXCHANGES: My hope is that you will love your jewelry as much as I do! If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, I want to know! Please send me an email within seven days of the receipt of your order (verifiable by the tracking info) to tell me your concern. I will do everything I can to make your purchase a satisfactory experience for you! Items should be returned first class with tracking within a few days of our email conversation. I will refund your purchase price, minus the shipping, when the item arrives. The item should be in its original new condition, please. I am sorry, but I do not pay for return shipping (if I have made some sort of mix-up, though, please let me know and I will rectify it).

I will do my best to package things carefully. However, in the unlikely event that something breaks during shipping, send me an email within 24 hours of your receipt of the item, please include a photo in your email. If it is possible, I will repair the broken item, or offer a substitution or a refund. If you wish to purchase shipping insurance, please convo me when you purchase your jewelry.

Glass is, by nature, breakable. It is important to handle your jewelry gently. This being said, I have been wearing my own jewelry for many years and have not had an item break, even when it has been accidentally dropped. Small pieces of fired glass tend to be quite strong. I hold no liability for breakage or damage once the item leaves my possession and/or due to dropping or other misuse of glass jewelry.

All items are unique! As dichroic glass is made in small batches, there are always slight variations in the color lots, registration, etc. And then the glass has variations in each firing as well. So a substitution/replacement would be as close as possible to the original item, but an identical copy is not possible.

Shipping policies

VAT or CUSTOMS TAXES: INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: please note that your home country may charge an additional import tax on the item you have purchased. Not all countries do, but some do, and it can be a shock to discover you have to pay it, so I am mentioning it here. This fee is your responsibility; it is not part of the Etsy shipping fee, nor does it have anything to do with Etsy nor Etsy sellers. It is between you and your home country.

Once your payment has cleared, I will ship your item(s) to the address linked to your Paypal account or Etsy account unless you tell me otherwise. If it is a gift order, it is possible for you to enter the recipient's shipping address when you place the order, just click on the "new address" link. I ship USPS first class, which is fairly prompt. I usually ship the day after your order, unless it is the weekend or a post office holiday, or if we have a blizzard :))

If you wish priority shipping or insurance, let me know and I will tell you what the cost will be.

Additional policies

Regarding color: remember that the glass colors will shift a little in different lighting and as you move your head. This is the beauty of dichroic glass! The transparent glass has greater depth when held against skin, which is why I sometimes photograph it that way. I have done my best to capture accurate colors, but the color of dichroic glass is, by nature, shifting, elusive, and difficult to photograph. And the colors on computer screens also do vary.

Dichroic glass colors look much more amazing in person :) )
