Original art work on 100% silk. Screenprint and silk painting. Hand printed and hand painted using gutta resist and silk dyes. I work from images I first take on my camera, then create a screenprint, which i work over top of when I add resist and dye.

This is a handpainted work on silk. The colours are clear and intense and the fabric has a lovely sheen to it. It will flutter slightly with a passing breeze. Mounted on a wooden dowel, it is best shown by hanging it without the impediment of a frame or glass.

The image is from a scene I often pass on my way into Langely - flocks of birds gather to glean the grain that falls. I like the contrast of the intricate machinery with the natural swoops and flight patterns of the birds. I also enjoy how the many wires gleam in certain lights.
