Description

Antique English China Sugar Bowl by W. H. Grindley in the Derwent pattern. Beautiful green decoration of flowers and swags on a creamy-white background. This is a double-handle sugar bowl with a lid. It is considerably larger than most sugar bowls I have listed. The back stamp dates this piece to a manufacture date sometime between 1890 and 1913 - the end of the Victorian era and beginning of the Edwardian, just prior to WWI. This little sugar pot has seen a lot and survived in one piece...and still as delicately beautiful as when it was made.

Approx. dimensions are: 5" tall including lid; approx. 6" wide at the widest part including handles. The condition is vintage...but I see no cracks, no crazing, no chips. If you are looking for perfection, I have not examined this under a microscope and I'm not an expert in antiques. I would, however, describe this as in excellent condition without visible flaws. A wonderful piece of history that has made it to today in beautiful condition!
