This 1906 antique / vintage book is The Story of Sir Walter Raleigh by Margaret Kelly, part of the Children's Heroes series edited by John Lang and published by T.C.& E.C. Jack in London and E.P. Dutton in New York. This first edition book includes eight wonderful color illustrations by T.H. Robinson.

This biography covers Raleigh's life from his time as a child listening to sea stories to his death, including his time in the Tower of London and the famous scene where he lays his coat over a mud puddle for the queen.

The book is cloth bound in brown with gold lettering and designs and an inlaid plate, corresponding to one of the interior illustrations.

The book is in good to very good condition. The cover has some wear; the spine is tight. The pages are untorn but yellowed (a few have darker spots). The owner's name is neatly written on the first free end paper.

Size: About 5 x 6 inches (12.3 x 15 cm), 120 pp.
