Description

Tall and large designer art glass vase made in clear glass. It has a light bark style textured surface and three circular indentation on one side.

It was designed by Jan Gabrhel in 1969 for the Chlum u Trebone glassworks in Czechoslovakia.

This textured mid century modern glass vase is perfect for a modern retro interior design.

A similar vase is shown on page 31 of Mark Hill's book 'High Sklo Low Sklo' where it states:

"This mould blown bottle vase is from a range of similarly highly unusually shaped pieces, with the common link being the presence of one or more circular impressions and a cylindrical neck with a randomly finished rim. The proportional and sculptural forms focus on contour, and could be based on a stylised human torso. The shaped rim hints at the growing studio glass movement of the day. Variations are known without bubbles, or with a bark textured surface that is unique on each piece due to the moulds used."

--------------------------------------------------------------------

The vase is:

28cm (11 inches) high;
11cm (4.5 inches) wide;
7cm (3 inches) deep;
and weighs 1.5 kg (3.5 pounds).

The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or bruises. There are few light surface scratches but these are barely visible.
