Handmade wall quilt.

Size 58" x 58"

Fabric and batting: 100% cotton

Colors: yellow, turquoise, lime green, majenta, burnt orange, gray, maroon, amid a white background.

I began this quilt just before Hurricane Hermine hit our city. It is based on a design by fiber artist AnneMarie Chaney. The eye of the hurricane is in the center. The 12 blocks around the eye represent the 12 counties impacted by the storm. The center of each block contains a symbol of what damage was done: windmill=wind, hourglass=the long time for the storm to pass, square=location of the storm, sun=daylight when the storm began, diamond=starlight when the storm ended, and the cross=the aid we received after the devastation.

A 4" sleeve is sewn into the back of the quilt, which makes it easy to hang.

Cleaning and care: All materials are made of 100% cotton and can be washed in the delicate cycle and hung to dry. Iron as needed. Dry cleaning is preferred.

All of my quilts are one of a kind. Commissions accepted.
