Description

A luminous sun-kissed scarf with a sophisticated woodland eco print pattern of orange and red leaves on a yellow gold background. A stunning addition to your wardrobe, this scarf was created with layers of dye and leaf prints made from leaves gathered in Brooklyn, NY. It was very challenging to photograph, because the colors shift and shimmer according to the available light. Wear this beautiful eco print scarf as a headband, sash, or around your neck. The gossamer lightweight silk material is surprisingly warm and soft as a feather! (You can give it as a gift, but I am warning you: you might want to keep it for yourself!)

* Hand-dyed and hand-painted eco leaf print long 8mm silk habotai scarf

* Size before dyeing/painting process: 14" x 72" or 35.56 cm x 182.88 cm

* One of a kind original, inspired by my fine art and surface designs

* A work of art that you can wear many ways

* Ideas for how to wear: neck scarf, headband, sash

* Other ideas: Hang as a work of art, use as a gift-wrapping cloth (furoshiki), or tie to your purse for a bit of chic!

* Be sure to ask me about custom projects, including hand-dyed, hand-printed wedding Chuppah canopies! Just send me a convo message via Etsy!

* Silk is very lustrous and light-reflective, and the colors change according to the available light. It is difficult to capture this in photos.

* Created with non-toxic dye

* The scarves are one-of-a-kind (OOAK) and as such, are labor-intensive to produce. The process involves many layers of dyeing, printing, and/or painting. The result is that the scarf you are purchasing is the only one like it in the entire world.

* This silk scarf is made of a natural fiber and as such, it always has variations and nubs in the texture. It is also hand-dyed and hand-painted. Because it is a work of art, it is not machine-made perfect. The human touch is what makes them unique!

FAQs

Contact me through the Etsy conversation center to discuss possible custom or personalized orders. (I even created a wedding Chuppah for an adventurous client!) If I can at all accommodate your request, I will! It will depend on what the project is. Please keep in mind that since these scarves are one-of-a-kind works of art, I could never exactly recreate one, although I could make one with a similar "look." Due to the artistic nature of the dyes and process that I use, I cannot match colors.
The dimensions given for the scarves are the dimensions of the silk before I have begun dyeing and painting it. Be aware that there is often slight shrinkage after the artistic process is complete and they have dried.
Hand-dyed, hand-painted silk scarves require the following care:

You must handle them gently at all times, and be careful how you store or hang them, as they can easily snag.

Wash gently in cold water. Use a drop of natural soap. Rinse well. Dry by placing the scarf between a clean absorbent towel, and gently patting dry. Hang to dry in the shade, avoiding direct sunlight. If you choose to iron, place a thin cotton sheet or fabric on top of the scarf. Use a medium to low iron setting.

This silk scarf is made of a natural fiber and as such, it always has variations and nubs in the texture. It is also hand-dyed and hand-painted, and as a work of art is not machine-made perfect. The human touch is what makes them of value!
All orders will be shipped with a creative yet simple gift packaging. (As soon as I can, I will provide a photo to show you.)

(Wholesale orders, if accepted, will not be gift-packaged.)

Please be aware that all of my packaging is deliberately modest, so that I can keep price and environmental impact down.
Wholesale orders considered on a case-by-case basis.

Please contact me via the Etsy conversation center to discuss.
The reason I decided to create this line of artisanal scarves is because people often wanted to buy my original artworks, but had no place in their home to put them.

These hand-dyed, hand-painted silk scarves are wearable works of art. They are easy to store, fun to collect, and provide you with the opportunity to add an original work of art to your wardrobe every day.

They are one-of-a-kind (OOAK) and as such, are labor-intensive to produce. The result is that the scarf you are purchasing is the only one like it in the world. I hope wearing it gives you as much pleasure as it gave me to create it for you. With the proper care, it should provide you with many years of color, pattern, and joy!
