Gorgeous vintage Mexican earrings have a jasper cabochon set in silver -- pre-Taxco, I believe -- - I found these at a big old barn sale in New Hampshire in the early-mid 1970's, along with all kinds of other treasures!

The setting for these earrings has a wonderful handmade look, with a fine "twist" edging. The back of one earring is stamped "Silver Mexico." I'm dating these before 1948, as they don't have the eagle mark used on Mexican silver jewelry starting that year.

Stones are 9.5 mm. Silver settings 12.5mm wide. Weight is 5.41 grams. I've cleaned them gently. These are screw-back earrings, but comfortable! Better than clips, in my opinion.

A classic look, in a lovely mellow color!
