Description

Folkwear Pattern #225
Childhood Dreams

My earliest memory of Christmas was of opening a soft package with bright wrapping paper and a gold bow. Inside my mother had made me a nightgown just like this one out of a beautiful flannel. I grew so fast in those days. I received a new one every Christmas. I didn't appreciate it then as much as I do now. The toys I don't remember as much as the night gown. Now that Mom has passed away, the memory is more precious. This pattern is based on a design sold by Sears Roebuck catalog in 1900.

Two versions are included. View A has a rounded neckline with ruffle. It comes in a short, knee length for sizes 2 to 6 and a longer, below the knee for sizes 8 through 12. View B has a triangular yoke with ruffle, godets for flare, and is ankle length. Children's size 2 through 6 and Girls 8 through 12.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium-weight cotton, linen, rayon, silk, or blends such as lawn, dotted Swiss, gauze, voile, muslin, challis, broadcloth, or flannel.

Folkwear has been in business long time and still is today. Ursula's Alcove is a licensed dealer. This pattern is new, not vintage or used.
