Description

This listing is for a CROSS STITCH PATTERN, not for the finished sampler.

I have always liked birds. I remember noticing their flight patterns and songs as a very young girl; but I never spent any time learning their names or matching color, shape and song to species until I was in my thirties. The day my Farmboy put a bird feeder outside my kitchen window changed everything... Suddenly they were right there in front of my eyes, and each new species I spotted got me excited. I had to identify them right at that moment (thank goodness for internet search engines)! I started taking photos and created a spreadsheet to track each new variety that came to visit.

A decade later, I still get joy each day from my moving landscape. I notice the seasonal patterns of which bird types will come and go with the changes in the weather. And every once in a while a brand new bird will come to call, starting the learning process all over again.

This booklet is the third in a collection which will highlight my favorite Pacific Northwest birds. I will release them in groups of three, and will total at least twelve birds by the time I finish, but I might just keep the collection open and expand beyond my own territory to include yours. Perhaps some of these birds are new to you, or perhaps they also live in your area. Either way, I hope you enjoy taking off on this feathered journey along with me.
