Copper electroformed vintage skeleton key, Spiral texture boro cab

This key's glass cabochon was created by me in the flame, tumble-etched, attached to a vintage skeleton key, and electroformed. The boro glass cab has a spiral impression that shows shiny against the "frostiness" of the tumble etched glass.

Electroforming is the process of transferring a copper form (vs a thin copper plate) onto an object. The copper has been patinated to complete the Olde World look. It measures approximately 2 5/8 inches from top to bottom. The copper of the key has been coated with microcrystalline wax to slow down tarnishing.

All of my glass is created by me in my glass studio in New England. While this has been digitally kiln annealed directly from the torch, it is glass and may break if mishandled and therefore should not be given to children.

I try to use pictures that are true to color, but please remember that monitors vary. These were photographed indoors with daylight bulbs. 021717

This was made just for me, and looks just like the listing. Wonderful, solid, quality, heavy feel, and no allergic reaction (I'm highly allergic to most jewelry metals.) I love the concave, worn, little, imperfect heart. Very happy with my new ring, and I'll keep an eye out for more KimVGlass cool stuff! Thank you so much! :)
