Description

**Please Note: This listing is for the CROCHET PATTERN to MAKE YOUR OWN Chunky Cabled Capelet, NOT for the actual product! Visit my EyeLoveKnots shop and use the search box to search for cowl, shoulder cozy, cabled, etc, or send me a message for a custom order :) **

Two things inspired the designing of this capelet:
I worked the Cowl Shoulder Cozy back in January (2016). This design was by Salena Baca for Red Heart Yarns, and I was in love with the design and how wonderful it was to wear around.
This design was only my second project worked with cables, my first being the Cable Twist Hat that I shared back in April (2016). Up until I tried this hat, I was super intimidated by crochet cables. If you are like I was - don’t be! It is so easy to work, and create an amazing look and texture. I knew once I completed my Cable Twist Hat that I wanted to design a cabled capelet and so I set out to do so!

Upon completion of my design, I found a submission call for the Happily Hooked Magazine to the theme of Rustic Autumn and so I sent it in, and it was chosen! Originally I worked my design in a redish-pinkish colorway since that is what I had on hand, but then worked this Oatmeal colorway after chosen. Lighter and solid colors will show the cable design the best (and are easier to photograph). This being said, you can find this design in the Happily Hooked Magazine for the Rustic Autumn, Issue #30, which features some gorgeous garments, accessories and home decor.

Materials:
- 545 - 763 yards of Chunky/Bulky Weight Yarn - I used five skeins each of Deborah Norville’s Serenity Chunky Yarn in the Oatmeal colorway. The L/XL size will require 7 skeins.
- L11/8mm Crochet Hook
- #18 Tapestry Needle for Weaving in Ends

Material Notes:
Yarn Alternatives: Red Heart’s Medley Yarn, Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Chunky Yarn, Michaels Loops & Threads Charisma Yarn, Paton’s Classic Wool Bulky

Time Spent:
I worked on this piece for several days, a little bit at a time. It took me about 3 hours, 45 minutes to work up the S/M size.

Sizes:
Women's S/M & L/XL

Abbreviations:
FDC - Foundation Double Crochet - See Special Stitches
SC - Single Crochet
HDC - Half Double Crochet

Payments

Secure options
  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card information.
I accept Paypal.

Returns & exchanges

I do not offer refunds. Please be sure in what you are purchasing beforehand!
I do my very best to be as clear in current listings, and emails regarding custom orders so there is no confusion as to what you will be receiving.

I will refund a shipping overpayment if overpaid by more than 1.00.

For Coaster Purchases: IF you receive broken coasters/a broken coaster, please contact me right away with a picture.
PLEASE NOTE, I take care to wrap each individual coaster in bubble wrap so as to prevent breakage.

Should you receive an item that you are unhappy with, you may contact me with a request for shop credit (that you can use at a later time to purchase something else in my shop), or exchange. This is subject to my approval, and may be denied.

*Please note that each item in my shop (aside from craft supplies) is handmade by myself. I shop for the materials, prep and assemble them as necessary or crochet - sometimes spending hours of time and hard work - package, and ship all by myself. It is unfair for me to offer refunds.

No exchanges on earrings will be accepted for health reasons.

Additional policies

I welcome custom orders!

Please be sure in what you are purchasing beforehand! I do my very best in getting all the pertinent information prior to making an item. I will then make a swatch of your request and email you a photo for approval. If you are happy with it, I will then complete the item and get it ready for shipping. If you are unhappy with it, I will make adjustments at that time. You may choose to cancel your order up until this point, but not after.

I will also notify you during the custom requesting process of the estimated cost. If approved and you haven't purchased a listing yet, a custom listing will be created for you to purchase. If there is an overpayment, you will be refunded the difference.

I do my best to ship in a timely manner, but I will not ship without full payment. Please plan accordingly. Also, if needed before the expected shipping date noted on each listing, please contact me first to make sure that I can accommodate the request.

15% of every purchase is donated to the National Retinoblastoma Research and Support Foundation to aid in the medical advances and new discoveries in the fight against Retinoblastoma, blindness and other eye diseases. Feel free to contact me for more info.
