Description

Do you need to carry a large number of jars or bottles, such as for zero-waste shopping, or just bringing your lunch?

- If you have a basket, bag, cooler, or crate that will support the weight of your jars, Jar Nests will keep your jars safe and quiet.

- Jar Nests come in three standard sizes - Quart, Pint, and Half-Pint.

- Each nest has ties, so they can be tied together into any configuration you need.

- Ties are at the same level on each size, so any size can be tied to any other size.

- They can be tied into containers that have something to tie onto, such as baskets or crates.

- In containers with smooth sides, with nothing to tie on to, you can tape or safety-pin them as needed.

The pattern includes all three sizes: quart, pint, and half-pint. It also has instructions for creating your own special size patterns for larger or smaller jars or bottles. You may use purchased fabric, or recycle used clothing or linens. Construction is very simple.

Materials used:
Fabric, either purchased or recycled
Fleece or other padding
Twill tape, ribbon or cord for ties

This listing is for a PDF pattern to sew your own bag. It will be available to download instantly after your purchase, through your Etsy account. It is not an actual nest, and does not include photo props such as jars.

Can you sell nests made by this pattern? Yes, BUT: only as many as the purchaser of the pattern can personally make. No collective or factory production. If bags are sold online, please give design credit to Kim Payne of atinyforest.com. The pattern itself may not be distributed in any way, for sale or for free.

Pattern worked well, cute idea. I suggest adding a step up front saying to cut fabric into rectangles (please provide rectangle dimensions for each size). Once I figured this out, I could cut out several at a time and it went significantly faster, all I had to do at that point was to go back in and add the notches.

FAQs

I know my zero-waste customers want to know!

I am happy to report that I have transitioned to all recycled/recyclable packaging products! Your order will come either wrapped in kraft paper, or in a cardboard box, depending on what is most suitable for your order. It will be sealed with recyclable paper tape.

I do use heat-printed labels - I know they're evil, but they save ink (packaging) and trips to the post office (gas).

I limit the "extra papers" to one business card and one tiny thank-you. I will leave those out if you ask.
