Bloodstone- is a specific form of chalcedony quartz tending toward a jasper, found most readily in India, with red spots (caused by iron oxides) imbued into the green stone. A find from Oregon is quite beautiful. The Biblical reference refers to the symbolism of Christ's blood spilling on stone. In ancient texts, it is often referred to as heliotrope. Bloodstone from Oregon is quite powerful and possesses a smooth quality of ease and gentleness.
