Hand-hammered & custom etched EDC Pirate's Doubloon made from solid brass.

Legend has it that Blackbeard the Pirate would frequent the Crystal Coast, particularly Beaufort, NC. Some say that he would bury his treasure around the shanty town, perhaps somewhere on some spit of land, or hidden in a grave yard, or perhaps in an isolated patch of land near the old port or on a river bank. Though it was unlikely he would have drawn a map to these plots, a pirate that may have buried a barrel or wooden chest full of gold doubloons inside was too irresistible for most sort of folk.

Though lore has changed throughout the years, a more honest recollection of the "girl in the rum cask" is precisely this:

It was not her father that brought her to her final resting place, a slobbering drunk he had stuffed her in a rum cask and thrown her overboard with several other barrels once she had fell ill and perished. A lookout on the Queen Anne's Revenge spotted the discarded cargo, and alerted the captain. Once the barrels had been brought on board, to the surprise of Blackbeard, no rum would spill out of the tiniest cask...

Several years later, during a supply voyage from Savannah to Beaufort, the Noble Woodsman found himself at the Salem Tavern one fateful night. Once he found the bottom of his glass he head back to port. Passing the old burial grounds he heard a commotion within, with lantern lights catching his eye. He drew his pistol, and silently made his way to the rear of the cemetery where several grave-robbers had unearthed a tiny rum cask.

"What is going on here?" the Woodsman exclaimed.

The robbers, with a pistol drawn on them, begin to explain that rumor says Blackbeard buried some of his doubloons underneath the girl in the rum cask. Once disbanding the thieves, the Woodsman set the girl back into her final resting place and restored her grave back to its previous condition. Once he returned to his vessel, he entered his cabin and a glint from his porthole caught his eye. He walked over, and where there was not one before, sat on the sill... one gold doubloon.

Our Wayfarer Coins have been derived from the classic worry stone which were once used for relaxation or anxiety relief. They are used by holding the coin between the index finger and thumb and gently moving one's thumb back and forth across the coin. Often called fiddle coins; the use of worry coins is one of many folk practices that can function as psychologically healthy self-soothing exercises.

Such techniques are imparted at an early stage of treatment, displacing any familiar but destructive coping methods (nail-biting, scratching, lip-biting, etc.) that the patient may have developed.
