Description

This stunning design, exclusive to my shop, features a Neoclassical style Medusa medallion.

Medusa is many things to many people - her story is well known as it is often taught to students at school. In contemporary times Medusa has been adopted as a symbol of female strength and, at times, rage. We all, at one time or another, raged about something - an injustice, an attack, harsh words - perceived or real. These strong emotions spur many of us onto make improvements, to correct injustices and right wrongs. In this context I like to think of Medusa as a symbol of evolution - what grows fresh after the raging fire. The clarity once smoke has cleared and we have gained the upper hand over the internal and external emotional forces that shape our days.

The medallion has amazing, fine detail which has been expertly captured by my professional casters, who make these medallions for me from my own master pattern. The master pattern in this case is a very old French piece, beautifully formed with writhing snakes, fierce eyes and wild hair.

The medallion measures 2 inches or 50mm across. It hangs from a 24 inch (60cm) pailette chain with silver clasp at the back. Although large in size, this medallion is not particularly heavy, weighing 20 grams. It is 'hollow construction so the back has the reverse of the pattern, and is not flat or filled in. This necklace, the chain and all other elements in the design are sterling silver.

I can offer this necklace with different chains - I have a range of rock crystal bezel chains or various gemstone chains. I do not recommend a fine chain as the pendant has some weight to it and might not hang well if the chain is too dainty.

Looks great worn layered with my matching infinity snake necklace, as shown in the last photo. Infinity snake necklace sold separately.

I welcome custom orders. After we discuss and agree on a design I request full payment up front. I will send you photos of your item(s) prior to shipping to ensure you are happy. Returns are not accepted for custom orders.
All measurements are approximate and may vary slightly (mm). When the buyer chooses a size at checkout, such as for a ring, I cannot be responsible for errors by the buyer, such as choosing the wrong size. If the buyer chooses the wrong size, and re-sizing is required the buyer can source a local jewelery to do this, or I will quote my fee to re-size.
All orders will come beautifully, and safely, wrapped. I can add a hand written gift note if you are buying a gift. Just tell me the details in the 'message to seller' section when you check out.
Sorry but I do not offer wholesale pricing. I am a retail store and sell direct. Re-sellers are welcome to purchase at the listed price and re-sell.
Sorry but I do not offer discounts. I will be happy to arrange a layaway for you if you are unable to pay in full up front.
I welcome layaway should you wish to pay for your order by instalments. For made to order items, item construction will not commence until 75% of item value has been paid.

I require 25% deposit to hold the order. I will then accept 3 further instalments of 25% each. Timing of payments is flexible, however I require full payment within 2 months from first payment.

I do not accept returns for reasons of buyer remorse or error...but I will work with you to achieve a mutually satisfying solution whatever the concern may be.
I have been selling on Etsy for over seven years. Through all of my shops I have conducted over 2,000 transactions with my valued customers. Rest assured your order will be safe, and I comply with all consumer protection laws to ensure a safe and satisfactory transaction for all parties concerned.
In general I do not provide refunds unless the item is faulty or not as described. In these circumstances I reserve the right to repair or replace the item before giving a refund. This is at my discretion. If a return is accepted I will not refund original or return shipping fees. Please choose carefully, especially paying attention to dimensions and ring sizes. I do not refund for customer error, especially after an item has shipped. If an adjustment can be made to rectify sizing errors by you, I will do so but may charge a fee.
