First Edition

Green cloth boards have cheerful yellow text and decoration at front and spine.
Solid clean copy, well built.
Pages are clean. Text is crisp. Illustrations clean.

Spider Webs and Sunflowers
CHAPTER I
THE UGLY GOBLIN
WHEN Betsy lifted the iron hand that was the
knocker on Grandma's white door, she knew
exactly the sound that it would make. Knock!
Knock! Knock-knock! Inside she could hear
Grandma's soft footsteps. Then the door opened
and she was folded in a big hug, her head against
the crisp, gray dress that always held a pleasant
smell of spices. As soon as the greeting was over,
-Betsy looked around the wide, high-ceilinged hall
way, glad to see that nothing had changed since
per last visit The white wooden panelling, the
bale wall paper picturing a mill and water wheel,
the polished table with the round mirror above it,
the stairs winding remotely to the cool rooms
above, the doorway at the other end, leading to a
Stepping-stone path that travelled to the end of the
garden where the sunflowers grew.
