Condition: Fair
Green leather covers. Delicate gold decoration surrounds gold text on front cover. Gold decoration and text on spine. Slightly tannish pages are strong and text is clean. Pages are clean.
Former loaner from Western Women's Club (from San Francisco) checkout slip at back is dated from 1929-1933. Has a sad dampstain at top of pages, but astonishingly only affects first pages and last pages and no text pages, nor title page. Leather cover is ragged at edges and appears discolored (brown at spine and outer edges. Back cover leather is flapping, must be handled gently.

A corridor, in the centre of which is the great
entrance-door of the convent. To the
righty the door of the chapel, to which
a few steps give access, makes an angle
with the wall of the corridor. In the
angle so formed an image of the VIRGIN,
of the stature of an ordinary woman,
stands within a niche, on a pedestal of
marble, which is raised on steps and
enclosed within a grille. The image is
attired after the Spanish manner, in
vestments of silk and precious brocades,
which give it the semblance of a celes­
