The SEVENTH Printing! ❤️
THE F*CK 2020 PRINTING - This is the Wonky Printing. If you are looking for a 100% perfect deck with the cards all the same size and color, here is what you want: https://www.etsy.com/stasiab/listing/963042390/the-sasuraibito-tarot-78-card-deck-and?utm_source=Copy&utm_medium=ListingManager&utm_campaign=Share&utm_term=so.lmsm&share_time=1615232914578
DISCLAIMER: This deck was printed with one error: one missing card with one duplicated. To amend this problem, I had replacement cards printed, which will come packaged with your deck. This replacement card is <<slightly>> smaller (around 1mm), and is printed <<slightly>> lighter in color. I suggest using the duplicate card in some sort of "burn away negativity" spell or ritual, if you feel drawn to that sort of thing. While this is an aesthetic disruption, it is the nature of this seventh printing, and an appropriate reflection of the increasingly infamous year that is 2020. The deck still shuffles fine and will function totally as intended, but if you think this will bother you, I will have the next printing available in May of 2021.
This year I've noticed counterfeit Sasuraibito decks appearing on the market, so if you now purchase a deck with this slight defect you can rest assured the deck is authentic. ;) Counterfeit decks will be less expensive, and also of very poor quality, and often missing a guidebook. This listing here is my own creation, and printed and published with my direction. This project was a work of profound introspection and love, of which I am very proud, and I'm so excited to share it with you.
My complete 78-card original art tarot deck.
The Japanese word: "sasuraibito" most closely translates to "wanderer." It's an old-fashioned literary term that is falling out of use, meant to describe a person ever-seeking, searching for a place of healing and refuge. This deck is designed to aid the curious wanderer, and accompany you on your adventures to come.
This 78 card deck is inspired loosely by the Raider-Waite deck, contemporary living in the Western world, and Japanese and Buddhist concepts and ideals.
The cards measure 2.75''×4.75'' (70mm×120mm) on 330gsm (smooth, sturdy) card stock with a matte UV finish, and are encased in a beautiful, sturdy lidded box featuring the card back design.
Also included is a 63-page guidebook, with brief notes on the meanings and symbolism of my cards. The deck is loosely inspired by the Rider-Waite tarot deck. While some cards follow common iconography fairly closely (Strength, The World), others diverge strongly from tradition (Death, Judgment). Common themes in the deck are the key points in the cycle of life, embracing endings and keeping the fool's open mind.
I painted the original designs between 2015-2017, in sumi ink, watercolor and Windsor & Newton Inks. The original major arcana deck lives in the personal collection of a patron in New York.
********* A NOTE ON THE GILT EDGES ********* These cards have gold edging, which will fade with time. As this is a paper physical object, it will wear with use.
Thank you so much for looking!

omg I was nervous about getting a tarot deck without touching it first but took my chances and I’m so glad I did! I absolutely love every piece of these, from the artwork to the gold edges to the teeny tiny booklet explaining the cards to the FABULOUS box they came in (I am WILD about a good box) Shipping was fast, everything well packaged, came with little cute extras as well. Will for sure buy more from this shop, I love basically everything in it! I was torn between getting the deck only or the deck with cloth, I’m glad that I got the deck only even though the cloth is beautiful, it is also white and I am way too messy for that to stay clean enough for my liking, but I still want it because it is also beautiful. 10/10 will buy from again!!
So incredibly happy to receive this deck back into my collection. 2020 really got to me and I sold my beloved Sasuraibito 2nd edition deck (bought at Elliot Bay Books). So when I missed it, it was only fitting to get the misprint edition!😍 Card stock is different and matte, so far I like that And having the guidebook fit in the box. Artwork is stunning and the reading style is gentle and a bit sassy! 💥
These cards are unbelievably beautiful! Photographs just don't do them justice. The cardstock is perfect, and the gold foil is absolutely fabulous! These touches showcase beautiful artwork - and the packaging is no exception. Worth every penny!!!
It was love from the start. I am proud to be part of the mistake of the 5. Thank you 😊 VII 💛
