🌱RATTLESNAKE pole snap bean Deppe Fertile valley seeds

•Rattlesnake Pole Bean, heirloom variety

**Truly our best tasting bean!

An extremely delicious heirloom that has unusual, dark-green pods streaked with purple.

Absolutely divine flavor! This vigorous grower often grows to 10 feet tall, and is filled with 7 inch, great tasting pods. Light beige colored seeds splashed with beautiful dark-brown speckled markings. Beans lose their streaks when cooked.

Exceptional flavor fresh(raw), shelled or dry.

Picked fresh, beans are round and dark green with unusual purple streaks. Streaks fade when cooked. Great addition to the home garden, farmers markets, and road side stands!

Grow your beans vertically to conserve precious garden space. Pole beans produce more prolifically than bush beans.

Germinates in 5-10 days

Fortex-(60 days) Open-pollinated. The industry standard in pole beans, Fortex begins producing relatively early and keeps on going into fall long after others have quit. Its flavor and texture reign supreme, a distinctive nutty taste that can be enjoyed raw or cooked, with a tenderness retained even when the beans are very mature. Although the medium green pods may be harvested at 6–7" for gourmet filet beans, they still have good quality and sweetness without strings at 10", and sometimes can grow even longer. Vines stand up to repeated pickings, achieving impressive yields. Expensive walnut-brown seed is worth every penny.

🌱 KENTUCKY WONDER 🌱 pole snap bean Deppe fertile valley

Organic Heirloom 'Pole Bean, Kentucky Wonder' Bean. The earliest producing bean at an amazing 60-65 days

The original pole bean. Long, green pods with a distinctive flavor.

Pods are oval, thick, gently curved, meaty and tender.

String-less when young

Pole beans are easier to harvest than bush bean varieties.

Pole-style green beans are a space-saver in a garden. Because they grow upward, they take one-half the space it takes to grow bush beans, and they produce more beans than bush beans over a longer season. "Kentucky Wonder" is an heirloom pole bean variety that produces 8-inch long pods on 6- to 8-foot long vines. It is resistant to bean rust, which can lead to reddish-orange spots and pustules on leaves and pods, and its beans are ready to be picked starting 65 days after sowing, about 10 days earlier than many pole bean varieties. Sow "Kentucky Wonder" seeds outdoors when the air temperature is consistently warm, the soil temperature is 65 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit and the soil is dry enough to work.

🌱KENTUCKY BLUE LAKE POLE BEAN🌱

This pole bean needs a trellis. Even with the trellis, this plant will grow beyond the trellis. It's a voracious vine that produces a high yield of bright green beans. While the flavor of the bean is not as sweet as the

Rattlesnake Bean, the Blue Lake Pole Bean is delicious and tender when cooked or added to salads. And they don't have that annoying string. The beans themselves typically grow to 6-7 inches.

We use organic fertilizers, which seems to do just as well or better than the other stuff.

We also try to stay away from chemical bug repellants. It's hard to enjoy eating what we grow when we know we just sprayed it with chemicals.

When we harvest the seeds, we choose the best seeds so that the next generation of plants will continue to produce to its fullest potential. We also choose the viable seeds, to ensure that your little seeds will sprout.

◘PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS◘
1. Requires full sun and well draining, prepared soil.
2. Have something it can climb: fence, trellis, pole.
3. Seeds should be planted 1 inch deep, 4 inches apart.
4. Water seeds and plants when as soil dries. Take care not to over-water or dry out.
