About the Peace Symbol
This symbol has been controversial since I was a child. In the 1950s the "peace sign", as it is known today and depicted on this bag, was designed by Gerald Holtom as the logo for the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, a group at the forefront of the peace movement in the UK, and adopted by anti-war and counterculture activists in the US and elsewhere. It was a prominent symbol in the 60s and it's use will very likely become popular again in the near future. See more at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace_symbols
