The Wallace Nutting Photographic Collection in Southbury, CT contains approximately 450 of his hand-tinted works and original photographs. Nutting staged scenes of domestic life set in the colonial period of New England's history. A number of these images are purely scenic in nature. This photo is not in the collection, and I've not found another like it.
Wallace Nutting was 20th century America's foremost photographer and was also the accomplished author of more than 20 different books, including his widely renown States Beautiful Series, books on Photography & Clocks, a personal Biography, and his highly regarded books on Early American Antiques, of which the Furniture Treasury is still regarded as one of the finest antique reference books ever published. And while earning the distinction of becoming the Father of American Antiques, Wallace Nutting's Studio created some of the finest bench-made reproduction furniture produced in the early 20th century.
