The Raven is a central figure in Haida mythology. Haida Gwwai is a beautiful group of islands on Canada's West Coast and the ancestral home of the indigenous Haida tribes.

I became familiar with Haida art while living in Vancouver: the work of famous Haida sculptor and jeweler Bill Reid made a great impression on me. I was also a frequent visitor to the Museum of Anthropology which has a treasure trove of beautiful artifacts from the pinnacle of Haida culture.
The Raven Pendant is entirely based on Haida design and mythology.
