This art piece is slab built from a stoneware clay body and various textures applied while the clay was still wet. The piece was bisque fired then placed into a pit with a bed of sawdust, leaves, seaweed and other combustibles and a wood fire built on top.
The color is a beautiful copper red blush from fuming of the natural minerals and burnables in the firing.
This type of primitive firing leaves the pieces porous. Created for decorative use, this piece would look fantastic with a mixed bouquet of dry flowers.
One-of-a-kind, and quite unique. This could fit into any room in your home.
This measures approx. 7 1/2" x 4 1/2"
