Description

Truly unusual this pair of earrings has a patented screw back that is unique and patented. It sits beautifully on the ear and is a design typical of its time. Teal blue glass carved into a flower with a coral center set in a burnished bronze tone metal shell. It is a fabulous example of the best of handcrafted costume jewelry of the Art Deco period..

I did research on these about 3 months ago and found that they were U.S. made, according to the patent which I can no longer locate, but it was used by jewelry designer Marcel Boucher in the 1930's according to a record I found when I was able to access the patent history. Boucher, from France was a Cartier designer. These were made by a company represented by a stamp on the back of each earring with R. A bit of a mystery as I have never seen anything like them. A very good acquisition to a collection.
Patent # 1645187
They are intact and working, and in very good used vintage condition. Please refer to the photos for condition and quality.

1" x 1/2"

The rarity of this pair of earrings is reflected in the price.

What a joy to find this Ginnie Johansen designed scarf! I still have her scarf booklet from 1988 on how to tie scarves. I didn't know she was an accomplished find artist! I think this scarf could be very well framed behind glass and mounted on the wall (although I intend to wear it)! Ginnie Johansen Johnson is a fine artist & successful businesswoman spanning over 30 years. After 12 years of building her own nationwide fashion accessories company, Ginnie Johansen Designs, Ginnie retired. "Her rich colors, textures, and movement have received accolades from renowned interior designers, gallery owners, and art collectors." Thank you so much, Mary Stead

This is a really nicely designed scarf. I love the color combinations and I always favor sea shell motifs or equestrian, which I most find with Hermes. It arrived quickly, was wrapped so thoughtfully and I am a repeat customer to this shop. The shop owner is very creative and just wonderful to converse with. For the life of me I can't find any information on the Italian Designer Asner Reli. I have searched every where and the only samples of his work I have located seem to be in the 1960s colors and "pop art" style. This is a wonderful experience to wear someone's creativity and it is in mint condition. Thank you so much, Mary Stead
