Creating my cards is a fascinating voyage. To write (my favorite part), I retreat to my inner vaudeville, a springboard into the cosmos, where literally anything goes. I can play, speak the truth, scream, etc. – all antics are welcome. It’s within these writings I mine for new cards, spending days sometimes, selecting choice bits I feel are pertinent, healing, humorous, or a combination thereof. I then begin thinking in pencil, often creating several drawings before truly nailing the writing. The perk of that is I now have a plethora of drawings that can be used elsewhere! Now for color. There are a couple of images that originated in oil, but typically I scan the drawings into the computer and paint them in Photoshop – a truly amazing tool. The drawback is the ease with which you can change color schemes. This causes me to wind up with far too many choices, and for someone who’s decision-challenged, it can make for some very long days. And so it goes…
