Description

Here we have the January edition of Wild Medicine, the digital version!

This month pickings in the hedgerow are rather lean, so by necessity I have included some spice cabinet medicine and profiles on two culinary herbs, as well as the usual hedgerow musings! This month's lesson includes:

Herbs in the hedgerow
Herbs in the garden
Seasonal recipes
To do list
Plant families - the rose family
History of herbal medicine from the dark ages to the medieval era
January health - the heart
Herbs for the heart
Spice cabinet medicine and a plethora of recipes
Detailed profiles on Valerian, Thyme and Sage
Plus the usual assignment

All in all, 51 pages of information and loads of photographs, which I hope will keep you entertained, delighted and enthused about the wonder of our beautiful green world!

The usual disclaimer is needed:
This course does not entitle you to practice, though it will come with a certificate of completion. You use any remedies and recipes detailed in these lessons at your own risk.

About Me

I've been working with herbs since I was 13 years old, as a direct result of my mother giving me the herb garden to care for after I requested a place to grow plants. She tossed a copy of Culpeper's herbal at me as an afterthought, and I was hooked! Fast forward a good 20 years and I'm now a qualified and practicing medical herbalist living in the Lincolnshire Wolds. I do a lot of teaching, a lot of writing, and even more gardening and foraging, and I love it. it is my hope that this course will foster some of the same love in you.

This is the third bag I have purchased from this delightfully clever vendor. Her bags are skillfully created and crafted; each one is a work of art and love. Whenever I use one of her bags, I am transported to the forest. Thank you!
