Description

Vintage Catskill Postcard - postmarked 1903
Copyright 1903 by Albert Hahn , 229 Broadway NY

At the turn of the century a quaint tradition sprang up, where cats were used on postcards to represent the area known as the Catskill Mountains. Although not genealogical in nature, these postcards are an indication of the importance of the Catskill Mountain Region in tourism at the time. Boarding Houses were a significant industry in Greene County.
