‘Sunrise Sunset’ features a traditional block design in a striking colourway.

My quilt is made using a yardage from my 'Aubade - a song to the dawn' fabric collection for Moda.

The fabric requirements to piece the front, back and bind this quilt are as follows:

For piecing the snowball blocks:
o 2/3 yd pale patterned cream - Heavenly Rays > Dawn (1420-11)
o ½ yd mid-tone patterned grey/cream - Heavenly Rays > Dusk (1420-15)
o 2/3 yd mid-tone patterned blue/cream - Sunrise > Day (1421-17)
o ¼ yd dark patterned indigo/blue - Sunrise > Night (1421-19)
o ¼ yd patterned cream - Sunbeam > Dawn (1422-11)
o 1/8 yd mid-tone patterned blue/cream - Sunbeam > Day (1422-16)
o ½ yd patterned indigo/blue - Sunbeam > Night (1422-20)
o 2/3 yds patterned indigo/blue - Sun > Day (1423-18)
o ¼ yd mid-tone patterned grey/cream - Daybreak > Dusk - Dawn (1424-16)
o 1/8 yd patterned indigo blue - Daybreak > Night - Day (1424-22)
o ½ yd mid-tone patterned blue/cream - Sunlight > Day - Dawn (1425-13)
o ½ yd mid-tone patterned blue - Sunlight > Night - Day (1425-17)
o 1/3 yd mid-tone patterned cream/grey - Blaze > Dusk - Dawn (1426-19)

For piecing snowball blocks and binding:
o 1 yd dark patterned indigo/blue - Heavenly Rays > Night (1420-20)

To layer up and back:
o 4 yds fabric for backing: Sunlight > Dawn (1425-11)
o 69 x 69 inches wadding
o Neutral thread for piecing
o Quilting thread

The finished quilt measures 63 x 63 inches.

This quilt was originally made using fabric from Janet's Aubade collection from 2017. Unfortunately we no longer have the full range of fabrics available and they maybe hard to source. You can easily substitute other fabrics and many of Janet's collections will work very well. Simply follow the fabric swatches shown on the back of the pattern and choose similar shades and tones.
