a little history:

The term denim comes from "serge de Nîmes". The french fabric so designated was originally a mixture of wool and silk from the surrounding Cevennes 1. Tissues of necessities that could be reused and so patched, this product of low ratio will be for the city of Nimes, the starting point of trading on a large scale and the growth in the 18th century, the silk industry. Hosiery, large shawls, silk and wool sheets made the fortune of Nîmes manufacturers/traders, propelling the Roman city at the rank of the major industrial cities, the third after Paris and Lyon.

The 'modern' denim is a strong cotton cloth produced from the beginning of the nineteenth century in the United States, including by the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company. At the turn of the twentieth century, the production of this company is gradually supplanted by the denim produced in southern States such as those of the Cone Mills (Greensboro) or Erwin Cotton Mills (Durham) in North Carolina. Spinning Cone starts to supply Levi Strauss around 1915 and becomes exclusive provider in 19223.

Currently, production is Chinese, Tunisian (SITEX), Turkish, Indian (Raymond UCO Denim), American (Cone Mills), Brazilian (Tavex-santista) or Japanese (Kurabo). Denim in English means canvas jeans

The smallbags are small bags in fabrics of our childhood, carefully made in very beautiful materials.

The smallbags have been designed to get the food in bulk, to organize a suitcase.
or as a summer or evening handbag... once it has adopted them, they are useful for almost everything.

They are made by hand, in France, often unique pieces.
