This wonderful lithograph print called “I’m Always Moving On!” is from the book Charming Children of Dickens’ Stories published in 1906 by the John A. Hertel Company of Chicago, IL. The title page states, “Being a delightful child-study and containing the beautiful life stories of the twenty child heroes and heroines of the world’s greatest friend of children – Charles Dickens” as related by his granddaughter, Mary Angela Dickens, and others. It is superbly illustrated with many New Color Plates, Half-Tones and Pen Sketches made especially by famous artists for this volume (although none of the famous artist were identified in any of the color plates, half-tones or pen sketches). Mary Angela Dickens (1862 – 1942) was the oldest child of Charles Dickens, Jr. (1837 – 1896) who was the oldest child of Charles Dickens (1812 – 1870).

There is uniform darkening at the page edge and slight yellowing of the paper around the image, all in line with a book plate that is over 100 years old. There is a small crease in the upper right corner (see photos). The rough edge from the binding has been removed but that is the only "altering" that has taken place (the interior edge is trimmed). Prints are carefully mounted on mats to simplify framing after purchase and to protect the print during shipment. All mat materials are acid and lignin free, the actual print is not archival safe. The original book pages measured 6 - ¾ x 9 - ¼ ” but the book plate is being sold custom matted to fit in a 9x12 standard frame.
