Halcyon Days Enamel MARILYN MONROE, Andy Warhol Pocket Mirror Bilston & Battersea, Gold Marilyn, Warhol Foundation

Favorite

Description

“Gold Marilyn, 1962” inspired by Andy Warhol's original silk screen, rendered here in the finest enamel techniques from Halcyon Days. The creamy enamel background gives life to the now classic image of Norma Jean hand painted, as always, by the fine artists in Bilston, England.

This rare piece was created in the late 1980s (1988 is most likely, but haven't been able to pin that down for certain). It is one part celebration of Warhol's legacy, one part tribute to Marilyn Monroe, and one part affirmation that the face you see in the mirror is beautiful and belongs in such epic company.

This piece comes to you in pristine condition, including the certificate of authenticity and the original suede pouch. The pouch, of course, will protect this beautiful enamel and the mirror on the other side as it travels in your bag. In the meantime, the suede pouch is in it's original protective wrapper, removed only for photos and then returned immediately.

If you'd rather display this piece in your home, the original velvet lined outer box is also included.

The mirror is just over two inches in diameter. That's perfect for fixing your make-up or signaling for help from a desert island, but small enough to go unnoticed in your hand bag until the moment you need it.
