Book Press, 14.5" x 14.5" Flat Plate Book Press, Birch / Maple, Finished, Item 211-1

Made from Birch and/or Maple Top plywood, smooth sanded, with three coats of water based polyurethane finish applied. (For a Less-Finish version, see Item # 211-2) The Standard 6" (15.2cm) long bolt kit gives a total opening height of 3-13/16” (9.7cm) (min), so thick or multiple stacks can be pressed flat at the same time. The table is 14-1/2” (36.8cm) deep, but longer materials can be used as there is no depth restriction. We now use CNC equipment to bore hole locations to close tolerances and engrave our logo out of the way just to spiff things up a bit and allow interchange of components.

Note: Choose the standard 6" long Bolt Kit, or Optional 4" long Bolt Kit, or Both 6" and 4" Bolt Kits to complete your Press. Each Bolt Kit comes with four (4) Bolts of choice, (4) SS Washers, and (4) Felt Pads.

The soft feel oversized knobs can be easily spun down holding everything firmly in place with minimal effort. No fighting with wing nuts & hurting fingers trying to get proper clamping pressure. Overall nominal dimensions: 14-1/2” wide x 14-1/2” deep (36.8 x 36.8cm) x 6” (15.2cm) high (top of bolt). Four plated 5/16-18 x 6” carriage bolts are threaded into steel thread inserts in the lower platen. The top platen is pressed down by using four oversized 2-1/2” (6.35cm) diameter polypropylene knobs with metal thread inserts for extra ease in clamping down tightly. Optional: You may Replace standard 6" bolt kit with the 4" bolt kit, or Add the 4" bolt kit. 4" (10.16cm) long bolts when your work only requires 1-13/16" (4.6cm) opening. This will save on running down the knobs the extra length if not needed.
