Description

Meet the Celestial Momma's Moon Goddess Art Queens... An art doll pattern for the mixed media artist in you.
Designed by Paula McGee

For you, I designed templates for 2 Sizes Cloth Dolls measure 17” & 13” before adding a crown or a moon. The doll is button jointed so you can use up lots of pretty buttons from your button stash, or even use beads as well.
The body has heart shape cutout where you can place any charm or heart lamp work bead, it can be seen from both sides of the finished doll.
Would make an excellent valentine to make for a dear one.

Skill Level: Beginning Doll Maker to Advanced (must have knowledge of sewing machine usage and basic sewing terms and doll making terms)

Print Info: Prints on Letter Size Paper (8.5 x 11)

This pattern is very easy to make and includes full size templates. You will stitch on the right side of the fabrics & you do NOT turn them right side out. I love the distressed & time worn look the raw edges give to this project, like a memory album in art doll form.

Materials You'll Need To Gather for Making A Doll from This Pattern:

FABRIC – scraps are perfect for this art doll because you can just let your imagination go wild. Dig that box of treasures out of the closet & let creation fly!
Fabrics may include old embroidered dresser scarves, doilies, lacey things. My favorite is fabric & upholstery sample catalogs (helps to know someone who owns a furniture shop, wink, wink)

BUTTONS – 18 (yes 18 on the joints because we use them on front and back) choose more if you want to use more buttons on your project!

FACES – This is a "collage" or mixed media art doll, I love using rubber stamps for this. Or there’s some magnificent fabrics with the faces printed on the fabric! Print family or antique photos on fabric... Or search for "art doll faces" on Etsy and see what other Etsy sellers can provide... Also you may use clay sculpted or press molded faces & stitch or glue them on the head front.

IDEAS – beads of all sizes & shapes, coins, trims, ruching, ribbon, threads, charms, clothing tags, old jewelry, costume jewelry, paints, pens, markers, glitter, found objects, rusty bits, vintage thingies, lace, bottles, tins, scrapbooking materials or cutouts or letters & shapes, tiny wooden things, steampunk, watch gears, tiny resin characters, tiny anythings & itsy bitsy whatevers…

FELT – for the wings, wings are optional depending on your mood

PAPER – fancy scrapbooking paper for the crown or other parts of the doll.
