Vintage French Ivory Round Trinket or Powder Box, Very Thin Celluloid, Pyralin Ivory. This measures
3 3/4" across. Would have been part of a dresser set for on top of your bureau. It was probably made to hold powder, but I have used it to hold elastics on my desk for many years.
It is in good condition, but the inside has yellowing from age. It is marked on the bottom.
