Ivory Linen 1950s Style Wedding Dress with Boat neck & Circle Skirt - Made by Dig For Victory

This classic ivory dress is made from a pure linen fabric so it has plenty of swish and a lovely organic texture. A great choice for a more informal Wedding dress or just a simple summer dress to accessorize as you wish!

The fitted Tiffany bodice dips to an elegant 'Low V' at the back and we have added neat cap sleeves to this one to complete the look. The cinched in waistband is flattering for all shapes and sizes and the full circle skirt can be worn with a petticoat for the full 1950s effect (as pictured - petticoat not included) or left to hang naturally for a more subtle silhouette.

Alternatively, you can choose another vintage fabric from our collection and have a dress custom made.

This dress is made to order and so will take approximately 6-12 weeks to make and 1-3 weeks for international shipping, depending on location. However, we do offer an express service so if you need a dress for an event sooner than this please get in touch prior to ordering and we'll let you know if it is do-able.

Size UK 6 is made to fit Waist 24”/25" and Bust 31”/32"
Size UK 8 is made to fit Waist 26”/27" and Bust 33”/34"
Size UK 10 is made to fit Waist 27”/28" and Bust 35”/36"
Size UK 12 is made to fit Waist 29”/30" and Bust 37”/38"

The standard skirt length for this dress is 23-25" - kneelength on most people - but please add a 'note to seller' if you would like the skirt on your dress to be made slightly shorter or longer to match your height.

Overbust (around your chest above your bust - with the tape measure going under each armpit and around your back)

Bust (the fullest part of your bust – taken whilst wearing whatever type of bra you would normally wear under the dress)

Underbust measurement (around the ribcage just under the bust)

Natural waist (it is important that this measurement is taken at the smallest part of your waist which is normally 1 or 2 inches above your belly button)

Low Waist (around the circumference of your belly approximately 1 inch below the belly button)

Shoulder seam to underbust (from the top of your shoulder with the tape measure going over the middle of one breast to the bottom of your bra - this is to make sure that the top of the waistband sits snugly just underneath your bust)

Underbust to Natural Waist (this is to determine the width of the waistband on the dress – the standard width is 11cm/4 inches but the waistband may need to be a little narrower if you are petite or high waisted or a little wider if you are taller or have a long torso)

Back length (from the nape of your neck – the knobbly bit – to wherever it was you took your natural waist measurement)

Arm Scye (This is the measurement that determines the size of the arm holes of the garment- please take this measurement around your shoulder/arm pit.)

Shoulder width (this should be taken straight across the back of the shoulders – from the corner of one shoulder to the corner of the other - without curving the tape measure around the sides of the arms)

Natural waist to the middle of the knee (This will determine the length of the skirt, so if you would like the skirt shorter or longer, please let us know and also take the measurement accordingly)

Upper arm circumference (the fullest part of the upper arm)

Above elbow (the circumference of your arm just above the elbow)
