A wonderful set from West Germany. Aubergine melting into pale icy greens on the vase, topped with gold is one of the prettiest colour combinations seen on a Bay Keramic piece. The matching basket, which does not have the same purple hues, is still a perfect match.
Both are in good vintage condition. Crazing over all, including the gold, the basket's trim having an almost tarnished look, there is also a dip, glazed over in the foot (photo 5). There are some small, light scratches on both pieces, and a very small glitch on the outside at the very bottom of the vase (photo 8, which glaze goes around) and no wear on the gold trim.
Vase measures 4.5" H x 3.25" W, West Germany 535 12 incised on bottom
Basket measures 6" H x 4" L x 2.75" W, Germany incised on the inside of the base
