Description

Heart Box
Anytime is a good time to share little red hearts !

Retro sweet it's puffy and neat ~ and a great way to show that you care ~ Side by Side is it's title ~ it's connection is vital ~ a now collectible piece of glassware ~

With Otagiri , Takahashi , Counterpoint and a few of the last remaining quality importers from the San Francisco Bay Area still in operation these wonderful vintage pieces are gaining popularity once again ! and for good reason. Hand decorated the sentiment is artistic and the message simply sweet. I have a butterfly heart box I've had since the 1970's. It's a favorite and brings back fond memories.

The top has two red hearts interlocking The inside under the lid you'll find an arrow and the bottom in red its maker, line and logo with its gold round foil sticker reading Takahashi Made in Japan

This one is a larger size than mine and measures 4" and is 2" tall

It makes for a nice gift box or bedside/vanity piece you see as your own. Weddings are getting creative using vintage potteries for the ring bearer or engagement ring presentation.

With the outbreak of World War II, Mr. Takahashi and his new wife, Tomoye Nozawa ( born in San Francisco 1915 ) were sent to internment camps in Topaz, Utah. Afterwards they returned to San Francisco and founded the Takahashi Trading Corp. in a small store in Japantown. Selling an array of wares, they built the business into an enterprise with offices in San Francisco, Sausalito and New York.
He passed in early in 2002 and she just in 2016 just at 101 years young !
The last of the quality imports has its two founders leaving behind beauty in the sometimes midst of our notorious and unruly history ~!~

Returns and exchange details
As stated above custom fabric flowers are non exchangeable and non refundable as are the vintage fabric bouquets that are sold in my shop. All handmade inventory is so. I wouldn't want anyone to be unhappy with their bouquet purchase tho tastes differ and while my flowers are lovely they have a unique truly handmade feel. I keep my prices affordable for all kinds of reasons ~*~ and with that everything seems to have fallen into just the right hands :)

Because of the fragile nature of aging textiles, buttons and antique glass nearing 100 years old, returns must follow Etsy's policy procedures.I personally ask for kindness and communication. If you are unhappy with a purchase let me know why and by the looks of the item you received what you think might have happened during transport. Please examine all items carefully, read the descriptions, note the measurements and contact me for whatever questions you might have about an item before purchasing.

Buyer pays for returns.

I try to describe my items to the best of my ability, flaws and everything, but remember these are vintage items once loved and may show some wear by minor scratches, imperfections or other signs of use. Any significant damage will be mentioned in the listing.

I don't alter any of my photos, your are getting the closest to color and texture that I can through natural light.

Your satisfaction is very important to me, I take great care in making sure my items are presented and shipped carefully. If you are not happy with a vintage item ~ convo me and we can work out a friendly resolution.

I would love for you to leave me a feedback once you received your package, this would let me know that you got your item in satisfactory condition. If you are unhappy with the transaction, please inform me of the problem and give me an opportunity to help resolve it before leaving a negative feedback.

Shipping policies

US Shipping

I use USPS mail service and hand deliver packages to the post office though once the package has left my hands I cannot be responsible for losses or damages during shipment.

Items weighing under 13 oz will ship first class using USPS and include a tracking number.

Books will ship USPS Media Mail and include a tracking number.

Items weighing over 13 oz will ship using USPS priority mail and come with a tracking number and up to 50.00 usd insurance.

International Shipping
I do ship abroad and use USPS 1st class international shipping service.
Items weighing less than 13 oz. cost 13.75 - 15.00 usd
Items weighing over 13 oz will vary starting at 23.00 and go up from there.

Payment of duties and taxes are the responsibility of the receiver.
I will gladly combine shipping to save on costs. However, vintage items are often heavy, oversized and not easily boxed with other unlike items. For instance a heavy metal tool is not going to pack happily with a delicate ceramic vase.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND FULLY : INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

The days of creative packaging are coming to an end we are forced to use clearly shaped and measurable sized boxes as well padded envelopes for shipping.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Once the package reaches the customs dept in your country I cannot be responsible for additional charges that may ecru. Each country has its own set of rules while going through customs, The package may be opened and searched. You may be asked to pay additional charges for items that customs feel are appropriate to charge for.

A customs number will be provided though ...international ground delivery doesn't allow for tracking your package. There is always a small risk of lost packages or returns when sending things so far without being able to keep track of them.

I'm just as sorry to have to present a gamble ~*~ if the package comes back to me we can revisit the options for redelivery.

I'll always include a customs number using Etsy's automated shipping details notification in with international orders with the exception of postcards / tiny objects that will be sent in a greeting card sized envelope using international stamps that cost 1.50 each.

Once a 1st class package leaves the US it's a rarity to be able to track its whereabouts. Though the customs number will often show it in transit or in the best cases delivered.

At times the vintage items may contain lead in the paint content. Nothing in my shop is recommended for children to play with unless marked safe to do so. If a knife no matter how small is sold in my shop I ask that the buyer be over 18 years of age and will assume so since stated here.
