Description

This is a beautiful burgundy belting leather Hartmann Handle Portfolio, Attache and Briefcase. This bag does have the initials VFK under the Hartmann logo. Our shop has listed many Hartmann bags but this is the first time we have listed this style from Hartmann.

This case has 3 compartments giving you to separate and quick access to your laptop, files and books. The center compartment is perfect for your laptop as it has a zipper closure to keep it secure. Inside it has an organizational panel with a smart phone pouch and pen sleeves. The two compartments on either side are open access and large enough for books and files. The detachable leather strap has a wide comfort pad for pain free carrying. The bag has dual padded retractable handles for an alternative carrying method.

Dimensions:

Length: 16.5 inches
Height: 11 inches
Width: 4 inches

Condition:

This bag is in good condition. It has no rips, tears or holes. It is structurally sound and the hardware functions properly. However, it does show signs of use. The interior suede lining has water marks and spots. The exterior is scuffed and scratched from years of use providing a patina projecting experience. If you don't like this patina you can reduce the appearance of scuffing and scratching with a product known as Leather CPR which is available on Amazon. Also, as noted above, the bag has the monogram VFK under the Hartmann logo.

Hartmann has been manufacturing leather goods since 1877. We have magazine ads from the 1960s through 1992 promoting Hartmann bags manufactured with the similar material, trim style and design. Based on the materials used in the construction of this bag and the style, it is my opinion this bag was manufactured sometime in the 1960s to early to mid 1980s.

About Hartmann

IT'S THE REAL THING PLEDGE. If we sell it, it's the real thing. We guarantee it's the real thing or you get your money back including your delivery costs we this pledge:

GUARANTEED AUTHENTIC OR ALL MONEY BACK. We understand there are counterfeits and knockoffs of vintage products by well known manufacturers for sale all over the internet and in other market places. We use multiple procedures to assure the products we sell are authentic. One procedure we use is to research authenticity through vintage manufacturer catalogs and to report our research in the listing. Sometimes we include a snippet from the catalog to corroborate our research and educate you about the history of the bag. The purpose of reporting what the manufacturer says about its product in the catalog is to verify our research on the authenticity and to educate you about how a vintage product was portrayed in the past. It is not intended to hold our shop out as a representative of the manufacturer. However, if it turns out we are wrong or our research is not correct we guarantee that if we sell you a product represented to be manufactured by a reputable company like Coach, Cole Haan, Ghurka, Filson, Christian Dior, Hartmann, Gucci, or any other company and you have competent evidence that the product is not authentic we will refund your purchase price and delivery cost. In addition, we will pay for return postage.

•Shipping costs are based on USPS Flat Rates for Domestic or International. We pass on the discounted rate Etsy gives us to our buyers. If you would like different shipping we will agree to provide the shipping you specify at the rate we are charged. If you purchase more than one item we are more than happy to combine shipping and pass on the savings to you.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. We use the USPS International Shipping service for international shipping. On international shipments the buyer is responsible for any tariff or customs charge. A tariff or customs charge is not a shipping charge but a tax imposed on the buyer by his or her country and the buyer is responsible for determining what that charge may be and for paying the tariff charge.
