Description

Made in Milwaukee exclusively for us, the Perfect Bench Pin is made from long-lasting UHMW* plastic – material similar to the professional cutting boards you see at chef supply stores. The material is nontoxic, super abrasion resistant, strong, and long wearing.

What's a bench pin and why do you need one? A bench pin is typically front and center at the jeweler's bench or worktable. It provides a steady platform for filing, sawing, and other tasks like drilling or polishing with a flex shaft.

Bench pins are traditionally made out of wood, but our design improves on the classic in a few key ways: The material is impervious to liquid and stains. It's forgiving, so it's easy on your saw blades. It has a large central V-slot support metal while sawing as well as two smaller slots that can be used when sawing detailed or delicate pieces.

A few other sweet features: A built-in ledge supports tubing and wire in perfect position as you saw them (shown in the second and third photos). Straight sides help you file perfectly perpendicular edges on a piece of metal. We even included two shallow parts cups in the top to keep small components handy as you're working.

You'll need a clamp or holder to attach your pin to your bench or other work surface. Our bench pin fits into most pin holders, including the professional GRS Benchmate (shown in the first photo above). Using the Benchmate mounting plate allows you to change out to other GRS tools as your needs grow. Purchase the GRS kit here: www.etsy.com/listing/602337971/new-grs-bench-pin-holder-with-mounting

The tongue of the pin (the part that inserts into a holder) is 2 1/8" wide and 1/2" thick.

In addition to the GRS holder, we also sell an economy clamp (shown in the last photo) that fits perfectly: www.etsy.com/listing/524409316/basic-clamp-holder-for-the-perfect-bench
