When I visit family in Scotland, this kitchen tool can be found in every home I go into, and is used primarily for porridge or making some creams and sauces. I use mine for porridge and sauces as well, but also found it is a great tool for that all-American dish - Macaroni and Cheese! The spurtle won't destroy the noodles the way a spoon will, but still distributes the cheese throughout the noodles with ease. I've gradually gotten rid of my kitchen spoons and spatulas in lieu of the different shaped spurtles. This one is a beautiful specimine that my Scottish relatives would be proud to have in thier kitchens! Very authentic with the lovely thistle on the top! Shipping was fast, with great packaging! Thanks!
