Description

Sorry, we could not translate this listing to English.
The ravine and the fantastic have always permeated the tales of our grandparents and I think it is useful and necessary to research and possibly save this oral heritage.
The myth of Metamorphosis has inspired many tales of popular culture in many parts of the world. In the Russian tradition, for example, it tells of a young man who leaves his family to know the life and goes through impervious roads full of pitfalls and dangers of all kinds. During his travels he must now turn into the horse, now in the Swan, now in the Vulture, to escape those who want to prevent him from achieving happiness.
Even in the popular culture of Sardinia, the Janas often resort to metamorphosis to observe men closely without being recognized or to mingle with them and understand who is deserving of their help or, on the contrary, who deserves to be punished. A story in particular struck me: the one in which a Jana assumes the appearance of a candid move to overcome the impervious mountains and then, arrived at the mouth of a river that mixes its clear waters with those equally clear of the sea, takes on the appearance of a Beautiful maiden who will give rise to mankind. In the period in which I elaborated the images to illustrate this story, I was making a photo shoot on the beaches of Sardinia. When I arrived at "Foxi Manna" (great mouth, in Sardinian) made more evocative by a recent flood of flood, he understood immediately that that was the place where the legend had to be set. The mountain closed and protected a fresh water esplanade that was purified from the beach before joining the salty sea. A slight haze made the atmosphere more mysterious and partly melted with the beings that were transforming. The Jana barely touches the water before diving completely and indulging in the refreshing embrace of the water.
